The Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is distilled, aged and bottled on the southern Irish coast, in accordance with Irish Law, and it is then imported. Our whiskey is made from barley, malted-barley, and corn. It is a blend of whiskies that are triple-distilled in copper pot stills, as well as distilled in continuous column stills. We use nearly 50% barley and malted barley, which is 3-4 times what other Irish blended whiskeys use. We age our whiskeys from 4-6 years in a combination of single-char bourbon barrels, double-char bourbon barrels, Port casks, and Oloroso sherry casks.
Tasting Notes
Our nose starts with nuances of apple and pear, balanced with malt, oak, and hints of caramelized Bourbon notes. The palate then moves from the clean apple and pear front notes to the vanilla and caramel from the charred bourbon barrels, rounded out with just a touch of sweetness from the port and sherry casks. The finish is a well balanced whiskey with a hint of cinnamon and sherried honey.
